Terms of Service

Last updated: 19 September 2026

Welcome to Blossom (“we”, “us”), a neighbourhood book-sharing app that helps people lend and borrow books with one another. These Terms are an agreement between you and Blossom Studios. By creating an account or using Blossom, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Who can use Blossom

You must be at least 13 years old to use Blossom, and old enough to enter into a binding contract in your province or country to lend, borrow, or pay through the app. You’re responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it.

Your account

You sign in through our identity provider (Auth0). Keep your login and device secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You can delete your account at any time — see our Privacy Policy for how, and what happens to your data.

Lending and borrowing

Blossom is a platform that connects neighbours; the actual lending and borrowing happens directly between users. When you list a book you confirm you own it (or have the right to lend it). When you borrow, you agree to take reasonable care of the book and return it in its original condition by the agreed date.

Payments

Some borrows involve a refundable deposit, a weekly lending fee, and — where applicable — a cancellation fee. Payments are processed by our payments provider, Stripe; we don’t store your card numbers. Lenders receive payouts through Stripe Connect and are responsible for any taxes on the amounts they earn. Blossom charges a service fee on transactions, disclosed at the time of the transaction. Amounts are shown in the app before you confirm.

Ratings and reviews

After a borrow, lenders and borrowers may rate each other. Ratings must be honest and based on your own experience. Don’t post ratings or content that is misleading, retaliatory, or abusive.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add — listings, photos, shelves, and messages. You grant Blossom a limited licence to host and display that content as needed to operate the service (for example, showing your listing to neighbours). You’re responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the right to share it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or remove accounts or content that violate these Terms.

Disclaimers

Blossom is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any book will be as described. You use Blossom, and arrange lending and borrowing with other users, at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blossom Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes, loss, or damage arising between users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.

Termination

You can stop using Blossom and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service or other users. Complete or cancel any active borrows before closing your account.

Changes

We may update these Terms; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Blossom after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
